The Best Birthday Present

So, I missed Happy Homemaker Monday yesterday, but I have a good excuse. At about 3:30 Monday morning I was having contractions close enough together that I was ready to head to the birth center. The minute we hung up with the midwife, I had a contraction and suddenly knew I would never make it downstairs, let alone thirty miles to the center. Things began to move fast. 911 was called, blankets and towels were laid out, the kids were awake and excited. I came really close to delivering right at home, but when a foot presented itself instead of a head, the paramedics insted we head to the hospital for an emergency C-section. Xavier Giovanni was born at 4:22 AM, happy and healthy. Today is my birthday and even though I'm stuck in the hospital, I got the best present ever!
