Happy Homemaker Monday

Feel free to use :)

The Weather:::
The temperature is wonderful but it is SOOO dry. My eyelids feel like sandpaper and I have to be careful with my nose because it might break off.

Right now I am:
Eating some delicious hot Grape Nuts. Just add milk and honey and heat. Yum.

Thinking:
I like autumn. I like doing warm, comforting things like slow cooking and having hot chocolate.

On my reading pile:::
I'm going to borrow the next two in the Fifty Shades trilogy. I can't leave that unfinished

On my tv:::
We have such a busy week planned I don't think there will be time for TV.

On the menu for this week:::
Monday- Epicurian Beef Casserole
Tuesday-
Wednesday-
Thursday- Pork Chops and Fried Rice
Friday- Asian Sesame Salmon
Saturday- Chicken Enchiladas
Sunday- Chicken and Dumpling Soup

On my to do list:::
Make a to do list. All these things are just floating around randomly in my head. I need to write them down.

What I am sewing, crocheting, knitting or creating:::
I'm thinking about doing some sewing. I bought some jeans and remnants to make some skirts over a year ago. Hmmm. Maybe.

Homemaking Tips:::
At about this time every year I tell my son that Santa can't bring new toys if there is nowhere to put them. I help him go through his toy box and weed stuff out. Anything that is broken or cheap kids meal prizes go in the trash, and he picks out the stuff he has grown out of. We go together to Goodwill to donate them. And somehow, Santa always brings less than what we got rid of.

Looking around the house:::
It looks like a baby accessory factory exploded in the living room. I always forget that babies have a lot of stuff that clutters up the house until about two years old. In about twenty years I plan to get new carpet and a living room set.

From the camera:::
Nothing this week.

Happy Homemaker Monday

Feel free to use :)

The Weather:::
It rained yesterday and overnight!!!!!! It was wonderful. Its supposed to be rainy through tomorrow. Yeah!

Right now I am:
At the shoe shine stand with Napoleon. I'm almost done with paperwork here.

Thinking:
What comes next for the shoe shine stand? How do we grow the business?

On my reading pile:::
I finished Fifty Shades of Grey yesterday. The unsatisfactory ending forces you to read the next one in the series so I guess I will have to get ahold of that.

On my tv:::
Adam-12

On the menu for this week:::
We got busy and didn't do any shopping again this week. My mother just happened to give me a pork roast so at least we have dinner for tonight.
On my to do list:::
Make a menu, shop

What I am sewing, crocheting, knitting or creating:::
I have a bunch of projects I want to work on, but I haven't been able to squeeze anything in.

Homemaking Tips:::
Throw away your plastic storage containers when they no longer serve you. If the lid is missing or its a size you just don't use, get rid of it. You don't need the clutter.

Looking around the house:::
Messy! I can't seem to keep the house clean if we do anything outside of our regular routine. Its time to do some major decluttering. Our poor pet slug hasn't seen daylight for awhile because there's too much junk piled around his house.

From the camera:::
I really should get my camera out...

Wheel and Axle- "Wheels provide motion by reducing the friction between a surface and an object moving on it."

Too bad the wheels don't ease the friction on your achilles
tendon caused by roller skating in your dress shoes.

Wonder, Stevie- "is an American singer, composer, and musician known for the originality and force of his music."

His music was forceful yet he was never known for violence, possessing weapons, or
even using bad language. They just don't make musicians like they used to.

World- "At the present rate of increase, the world's population will be about 6 1/3 billion by the year 2000."

That prediction was only off by about 250.  Million.

Happy Homemaker Monday

Feel free to use :)

The Weather:::
Just the regular San Diego sunshine. Its always the same.
Right now I am:
At the shoe shine stand with Napoleon. I have a pile of paperwork to sort through.

Thinking:
How am I going to finish everything I have to do here at the stand today when I have to keep stopping to us the breast pump. My mother has the baby today which allows me to come here to work, but I still have to keep the milk supply up.
On my reading pile:::
Fifty Shades of Grey. I kept hearing about it but wasn't interested. But my friend gave me a copy and now I can't put it down.
On my tv:::
No time, no time...
On the menu for this week:::

Monday - Corn Flake Chicken Strips and French Onion Soup
Tuesday - Bubble and Squeak
Wednesday - Quesadilla Casserole
Thursday - Sweet and Sour Pork
Friday - Out
Saturday - Shrimp Stir Fry
Sunday - German Style Bratwurst

On my to do list:::
Pay bills
Sign Anthony up for swim team
What I am sewing, crocheting, knitting or creating:::
No time, no time...
Homemaking Tips:::
My homemaking skills are lacking lately so I'll be checking out other people's tips.
Looking around the house:::
I've already left the house, but it looked lived in. My three year old stays very busy undoing all the cleaning I do. There are piles of stuff all over. I might need professional help to wipe out this pile infection for good.
From the camera:::
No pix this week.

Vacuum- "In a vacuum cleaner, air flows into a partial vacuum and carries dust and dirt into the collection bag of the machine."

This drawing begs to be colored in with my big sister's fine tipped markers that I'm not allowed
to touch. You just know the flowers on her apron are green and orange. And the carpet is brown.

Voting Machine- "The voter [...] has moved the pointers to indicate her choices. She is about to pull the large lever to the left. This action automatically records her vote, returns the pointers to their original positions, and opens the curtain of the voting machine."

They had automatic curtain openers as early as the seventies
but couldn't perfect hole punching by the year 2000.
(All kidding aside, don't forget to vote!)

The Weather:::
Nice. Its sunny but not too hot.

On my reading pile:::
The Giver. Its a book Anthony had to read for school. Pretty interesting.

On my tv:::
No time for TV this week.

On the menu for this week:::
Oof! I just realized I never did a menu or went shopping. I would have remembered sooner or later (like when the family asks me what's for dinner tonight.)

On my to do list:::

Make a menu, shop
Feed the baby

What I am sewing, crocheting, knitting or creating:::
Nothing right now.

Homemaking Tips:::
Get a maid! Seriously. If you're stressing about other things in life, don't let housekeeping add to the stress. Its easier to tackle issues when the dirty dishes aren't staring at you. You can get someone to come just once in awhile when really needed.

Looking around the house:::
The table is messy again but at least I finally got rid of the dead flowers. There's a big box under the table that needs to be taken to Goodwill (before the boys rediscover the toys inside). The kitchen is clean and ready to be cooked in.

From the camera:::
No new pix this week.
