Happy Homemaker Monday

Feel free to use :)

The Weather:::
Its been kind of cloudy and if I pretend real hard, its almost like fall.

Right now I am:
Having my leftovers for breakfast again. The stuffing is even better today than it was last Thursday.

Thinking:
About what kind of homemade gifts I can make this year. I want to do something creative from my kitchen.

On my reading pile:::
Still on Fifty Shades Darker. I'm getting about a page a day read. Woo hoo!!

On my tv:::
Whatever happens to be on when I plop down. Or maybe I'll go for a walk instead.

On the menu for this week:::
Monday- Chinese Chicken Salad
Tuesday- Meatloaf and Creamed Spinach
Wednesday- Jambalaya
Thursday- Cochinita Pibil
Friday- Turkey and Stars Soup
Saturday- Leftovers
Sunday- Honey Walnut Shrimp

On my to do list:::
Laundry
Pay bills
Declutter

What I am sewing, crocheting, knitting or creating:::
I got a back for the little baby quilt, and the makings for a new skirt. Everything's waiting for me as soon as I get a chance to work on it.

Homemaking Tips:::
I try to do a load of laundry every day. One medium sized load is easy. Ten gigantic loads on a Saturday is almost impossible.

Looking around the house:::
My husband asked me where we got the baby clothes that are piled up by the front door. I didn't remember getting anything new or any hand-me-downs. Then I figured out where Bobby got the big empty box he was playing with all weekend. Hey, if the box you want to play with is full of neatly folded baby clothes that have been painstakingly sorted to give to a friend, just dump them out on the floor. Mom won't notice.

From the camera:::
I think I need to permanently attach my camera to my arm. Nobody cares what the inside of a closet looks like.

Happy Homemaker Monday

Feel free to use :)

The Weather:::
There's not a cloud in the sky today. I know it will never snow here, but a little rain would be okay.

Right now I am:
Eating dinner leftovers for breakfast.

Thinking:
I really like cheese. My breakfast has lots.

On my reading pile:::
Fifty Shades Darker

On my tv:::
Hopefully I will get to see a little of the Thanksgiving parade on Thursday. Other than that, I don't have time for TV this week.

On the menu for this week:::
Monday- Lentils and Sausage
Tuesday- Chicken and Rice
Wednesday- maybe pizza, something easy
Thursday- Pumpkin Cream Cheese Dip with Apple Slices - Roast Turkey - Gravy - Stuffing Muffins - Carrot Souffle - Garlic Mashed Potatoes with Cauliflower - Collard Greens - Green Beans with Red Pepper and Garlic - Cranberry Sauce - Rolls - Dutch Apple Pie
Friday- Tuna Patties
Saturday- Turkey Leftovers
Sunday- Spaghetti Casserole

On my to do list:::
Pay bills
Get house ready for the holidays

What I am sewing, crocheting, knitting or creating:::
I finished the patchwork for the baby quilt. I would like to do my next skirt if I have the chance this weekend.

Homemaking Tips:::
I've said this before but it is so important: GET RID OF STUFF! I spend so much time moving stuff around so I can clean that I never get to the cleaning part. Don't keep things around because you feel guilty about getting rid of them. If you don't use it, donate it so someone else can.

Looking around the house:::
Just regular stuff today; not to messy, not too clean. It just needs a little spiffing up before we get the Christmas stuff out. I think we might put stuff up a little early this year.

From the camera:::
Nothing this week.

Happy Homemaker Monday

Feel free to use :)

The Weather:::
Boy is it crisp out there! Its nice and cool and almost like fall.

Right now I am:
At the shoe shine stand hoping to get lots done because it will be slow due to the holiday.

Thinking:
I'm wondering why the few trees we have here that lose their leaves haven't even begun to turn colors. Come on, its November already.

On my reading pile:::
Fifty Shades Darker

On my tv:::
No time this week

On the menu for this week:::
Monday- Chinese Chicken Salad
Tuesday- Italian Sausage and Peppers
Wednesday- Japanese Beef Stew
Thursday- Porcupine Meatballs
Friday- Fish Stick Hoagies
Saturday- Chicken Fetuccini Alfredo
Sunday- London Broil and Carrot Souffle

On my to do list:::
Go to the bank

What I am sewing, crocheting, knitting or creating:::
Woo Hoo! I made myself a new skirt yesterday. I only bought the stuff for it a year and a half ago. I have enough to make another this coming weekend. I also found some fabric squares for another baby size patchwork quilt.

Homemaking Tips:::
I use reusable bags at the grocery store and I always used to forget them at home. Now when I'm done putting away the groceries its my son's job to fold them and put them back in the car so they are always ready to go.

Looking around the house:::
It looks ok. The kitchen table is covered with sewing stuff but that's a mess I like to see. The kitchen is clean. We've also been doing some purging so the whole house is looking less cluttered.

Happy Homemaker Monday

Feel free to use :)

The Weather:::
Its clear and pleasant now but it got really hot yesterday afternoon. I guess nobody told our weather that its November.

Right now I am:
Finishing up some cereal and listening for the baby who is still sleeping upstairs.

Thinking:
How easy it is to get up in the morning after the Fall time change.

On my reading pile:::
Fifty Shades Darker

On my tv:::
TMZ

On the menu for this week:::
Monday- Chicken in Sour Cream
Tuesday- German Style Bratwurst
Wednesday- Chicken Enchiladas
Thursday- Fish Sticks and Tater Tots
Friday- Asian Sesame Salmon and Carrot Souffle
Saturday- Porcupine Meatballs
Sunday- Chinatown Chops

On my to do list:::
Finish up laundry
Review my ballot for tomorrow
Crunch some numbers and do some real estate research

What I am sewing, crocheting, knitting or creating:::
Haven't had time lately but I'm feeling ambitious today. We'll see what happens.

Homemaking Tips:::
Something that I learned from FlyLady is to always keep your kitchen sink clean. Even when the rest of the house is a mess, if the sink is clean you can at least wash your hands or get an easy start on washing a stack of dishes. Then you don't feel so discouraged about the rest of the house.

Looking around the house:::
The house is surprisingly clean today. Three year old Bobby had a sleepover with two year old Ethan Saturday night and things got WILD! But somehow we got everything picked up and even cleaner than usual. I can see the carpet!
